sides
After developing the internal frame, the next task was to cut out the sides of the cabinet. In addition to defining the look of the arcade cabinet, the sides form an integral structural piece with many of the internal beams being screwed directly into the side.
An electric rotary saw was used to cut the straight edges while i used a jigsaw to carefully cut the rounded edges. I then ran over the sides with an electric sander to smooth the edges.
Before attaching the sides there were a few enhancements to make to the intermal frame. Top and bottom panels were fitted to the bottom of the frame. I decided to add a flat botton in order to make it easier to attach rollers underneath and minimise potential entry points for dust etc.
